2020 Scholarship Winners

Fayette County Farm Bureau Foundation Awards Four $1000 Scholarships

Dalton Whitten, Vandalia, IL is a 2018 graduate of Vandalia Community High School. He has been attending Kaskaskia College the past two years and plans to transfer on to the University of Illinois-Urbana to study Animal Science in hopes of becoming an Animal Nutritionist. During his first year in college, Dalton served as the 2018-2019 Section 19 FFA President. Dalton was also involved in the Collegiate Farm Bureau and the KC Ag Club while attending Kaskaskia. Way to go Dalton!

Ava Pattillo is the daughter of Troy and Victoria Pattillo of St. Elmo, IL. Ava is a 2020 graduate of the St. Elmo High School. After graduation, Ava plans to attend Lake Land College or SIUE and study Pre-Veterinary Medicine in hopes of becoming a Veterinarian. Ava was involved in in her class as the Class of 2020 Secretary, she was a member of the National Honor Society, and in FFA, FCCLA, and Band. Ava also exhibited great volunteerism for her community by helping at churches, homeless centers, blood drives, and pet centers. Great job Ava!

Lauren Wojcik of Herrick Illinois in the daughter of David Wojcik and Candice Wojcik. Lauren is a 2020 graduate of Cowden-Herrick High School and plans to attend Lake Land College this Fall to study agriculture. Lauren was incredibly involved in high school. She played basketball, volleyball, and softball. She also served as the President for her FFA Chapter, along with being inducted into the National Honor Society, and being a member of the FFA and 4-H. Keep up the good work Lauren!

Claire Wilhour is the daughter of Chad and Monica Wilhour of Altamont, IL. Claire graduated from St. Elmo High School in May of 2020 and plans to attend Parkland College to become an Agricultural Marketing Manager. Claire has volunteered at the Bond Christian Service camp as a faculty member, in addition to working American Red Cross Bool Drives and leading song service at the Beecher City Church of Christ. Claire has also been a part of the National Honor Society, FCCLA, and Youth Group. Congratulations Claire!
