Fayette County Farm Bureau Foundation Awards Three Local Students
The Fayette County Farm Bureau Foundation Board of Directors met in May and awarded scholarships to three local students planning to study agriculture. Below is a short biography.
Alexis Vaughn, daughter of Nathan and Sarah Vaughn of Herrick, Illinois is a 2021 graduate of Cowden-Herrick High School. She plans to attend Lake Land College in the Fall 2021 semester and study Pre-Veterinary Medicine. Vaughn has been a part of the Cowden-Herrick FFA Chapter, Science Club, Spanish Club, and 4-H. Alexis has also volunteered for her community by picking up trash at the fairgrounds and writing letters to those serving overseas. Congratulations Alexis! We wish you the best!
Ali Willenborg, of rural Vandalia, is the daughter of Bob and Amy Willenborg. She is a 2021 graduate of Vandalia Community High School. She plans to attend Murray State University this fall and eventually become a Business Manager by studying Agribusiness Economics. Willenborg has been involved in the Shafter Friends 4-H Club, the National Honor Society, Code Red, and the Grub Club. Ali has also been successful in the Vandalia FFA Chapter were she currently serves and the President. She has received many awards from the Creed Speaking, and Dairy Judging to, Section 19 Secretary and the 2020 District IV STAR in Ag Placement. We wish Ali the best of luck and Congratulations!
Lauren Wojcik was a 2020 graduate of Cowden-Herrick High School. She in her second year at Lake Land College studying Ag Business and Supply in hopes of getting into Ag Lending. While in High School, Lauren was involved in the FFA, National Honor Society, Volleyball, and Basketball. Lauren has also been involved in her community by helping with canned food drives, roadside cleanups, and sending gift boxes to those serving in our armed forces. We would like to congratulate Lauren and wish her success in her career!
